Operational Improvement Programme

  • What will move your business forward?
  • Do you need help to improve your operational efficiency?
  • Does your staff need training?
  • Do you want to increase morale?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions then we can help you – FREE*

Many companies have run and implemented lean and continuous improvement type programmes but many have also found that embedding this knowledge throughout the company and sustaining any benefits can be a problem. The Pera Business Improvement Techniques Programme is specifically designed to overcome this problem and achieve high and sustainable impacts. We have successfully run this programme in a wide range of companies and industry sectors including:

Cummins Engines /BMW/ Vauxhall Motors ~ Automotive
Airfoil Technologies ~ Aerospace
William Lee ~ Foundry
Northern Foods Group ~ Food Production
Denby Pottery ~ Ceramics

Funded through the LSC Train to Gain, we can help you to complete an Organisational Needs Analysis (ONA) which captures a range of strategic and operational business, learning and skills needs; these are derived through structured discussions with senior management, training managers and shop floor supervisors. This ONA is carried out by experienced practitioners who understands the needs and limitations of businesses and who are also well tuned in to the regional business support network.

Our Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) and Warehousing & Distribution (W&D) programmes directly address business issues by providing shop floor staff with the knowledge and skills to develop and implement business improvements. We do this through an intensive programme of ‘learning by doing’, during which learners are given tools for immediate application in their work areas.

They are charged with, and assessed on, making improvements which in many cases result in immediate savings. Crucially, we also work with their managers to ensure learners are fully supported, encouraged and empowered to utilise those skills for the benefit of the business. The programme contains optional elements so that the content can be tailored to address real business issues wherever it is delivered, providing the employer with measurable business benefits.

Through the Pera and Business Venture partnership we offer - 1:1 training for traditional NVQ delivery. However, our High Impact Business Improvement Techniques to NVQ level 2 & 3 programme is specifically designed to maximise impacts through group learning in cohorts of 10. This has many advantages relating to productivity improvement levels, reduced learning time, shared learning and increased motivation.

Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) and Warehousing & Distribution (W&D) offerings are also inherently flexible in meeting employers’ needs in that they are specifically designed to use real business issues as projects around which we develop and deliver the tailored training programme. This ensures that we meet employers’ needs and also provides them with real-time tangible business benefits.

Our flexible but robust delivery has been designed to allow training to be tailored and delivered in ‘blocks’ or ‘sandwich courses’ on a bespoke basis, and has been structured to cope with client company working shift patterns where necessary.
