Starting Your Own Business Programme

FREE  -  ICT Awareness Training to help you start your business the right way! And on-going support once you’ve started trading.  To give that ‘big idea’ the best chance of success, good  planning and preparation are essential.

 

Make or Break - Starting Your Own Business helps participants understand the risks involved in starting up and provides the knowledge required to deal with the most common problems and pitfalls that cause new businesses to fail.

Using the Learn Direct modules, the course presents the entire start-up process, from drawing up a business plan to selling and marketing your product. 

Who is the course for? This course is suitable for anyone thinking of starting up a business (eligibility criteria applies - unemployed or unable to access mainstream funding).  Funding provided through Cheshire Employer & Skills Development.

The Programme commitment needed from you:

The programme is run over five half day sessions in a step-by-step format delivered by accredited business trainers.   No prior knowledge or experience is needed and there are no formal entry requirements.

 

What will you get from this course?

When you have completed this course, you will be able to:

  • refine and crystallise your business idea
  • find out more about your market
  • sell your product or service
  • raise the finance to get your business off the ground
  • manage your business’s finances
  • recruit and manage new staff
  • deal with contractors and suppliers
  • comply with business legislation.

FREE—Business Mentoring

Once you’ve starting your business you will be able to access a Business Mentor who will provide one-to-one advice and guidance relevant to your business.  Your Mentor will help you access any grants, sign post to further training and help your business to grow.

Many new business ideas fly no further than the drawing board.  The Barclays FREE Let’s Talk Starting in Business Seminar in partnership with Business Venture will give you the tools to help your business take off.
