The North West Fund is a £185m investment fund established to provide debt and equity funding from £50k-£2million to SME’s based in or relocating to the North West of England to start, develop and grow.

Since its launch in December 2010 The North West Fund has received much interest from businesses looking to source funds for growth. We provide flexible funding options through 6 sub funds tailored to different businesses and sectors (Venture Capital, Development Capital, Business Loans, Biomedical, Environmental and Energy & Digital and Creative) To date 40 investments have been made with many  more in the pipeline through the six sub funds that make up the North West Fund.  The fund will be investing until 2015 and beyond and aims to invest in 800 businesses across the North West region, safe guard and create 14000 jobs whilst delivering £700m GVA for the benefit of the regional economy.

The programme is run over five modules in a step-by-step format delivered by accredited business trainers.   No prior knowledge or experience is needed and there are no formal entry requirements but participants should commit to attending all modules. The Modules are usually run over 2 days but can be flexible [we also run evening sessions—please ask]

What will you get from this course?

When you have completed this course you will have used I.T skills to refine and crystallise your business idea and used I.T to find out more about your market, product or service. You will also have a system to manage your business’s finances, have pointers to recruiting and manage new staff, an awareness of dealing with contractors and suppliers and understand what legislation will affect your business

Once you’ve started your business you will be able to access a Business Mentor who will provide one-to-one guidance in the early stages of your business.

Your Mentor will help you access any grants, sign post to further training or local provision and assist you through to business growth.
